aloe vera gel (juice)

Question
I just read a post re aloe vera and the answer from one of the team where the following was mentioned:

"If the aloe/yogurt/probiotic makes your stomach hurt then I think we've found what's wrong! Suz" (post from 2007)

I have been taking 25 ml of organic aloe vera gel daily for the past three days to see if it could help increase my energy levels. I take 10 ml in the morning (in orange juice) and another 10 ml in juice at lunch time. I make sure the juice is at room temperature.

Not sure if one could experience side effects, but my stomach feels 'cold' and a bit bloated/cramping after drinking it, and the feeling lingers for most of the day into the evening.

Should I persist for a few more days, or am I one of the unlucky ones who cannot handle aloe vera orally?

Kind regards,

Vicki

Answer
Hi  - I can honestly tell you I have never tried the aloe vera juice.   Often when we introduce new products our bodies go through a detox process.   You may want to cut it down into smaller doses when you start introducing.  If you feel better after a few days, perhaps you can't tolerate it.

I use the Shaklee products - one of the products that has similar benefits is our Vivix, which I haven't heard problems with tolerating but has the same benefits as the aloe vera.  So if it doesn't work for you, you may want to check out Shaklee's wellness program - we recommend a detox to begin with to clear and ready the cells to accept new nutrition.  You can learn about Vivix and our program at www.shaklee.net/integrativewellness.  If you would like more info on how to start a wellness program, let me know.  Best,  Suzanne
