Aloe Vera Juice

Question
Hello! I got your answer to the person about how to make the salve and I plan on making it soon. I have huge plants and they are very prolific. Yes, Aloe even grow here in Alaska, indoors! lol I am trying to find out about making aloe juice for consumption. I know it can be bought but would love to use my own plants. Is there any specific way to make it? I can't imagine just skinning it and blenderizing the flesh is all there is to it. Can you enlighten me or point me in a direction to find the answers?

Thank you in advance for help.

Sarah Taranoff, Sitka, Alaska!

Answer
Hello Alaska, Sarah

Actually, it is quite simple to make.

Take several 5-10 cm leaves and let the brown juice drip out of it for 3 days (this is the laxative part that causes diarrhea). Next slit it in half and keeping away from the leaf scoop out the gel. Mix the gel with lemon juice and/or water and whisk in a food processor. Then drink or store as ice cubes for use later.

The brown liquid or aloin from the aloe leaf must be removed, as it has extreme laxative effects.

I am planning a trip to Alaska next summer. Am looking forward to it.

Enjoy your aloe and all useful plants that you can grow.
