Question
Hi, do you know of a powerful (long lasting) internal remedy to take for cronic arthritus?
Answer
Hello Gene,
Thanks for your question. There are many variables for arthritic conditions, so there's no single answer for your question. Homeopathics can work very well for joint pain but need to be chosen for your individual symptoms, as do many herbs and other natural remedies. But some of the underlying causes can be worked on, which will help get at the cause and therefore provide longer lasting results. Depending on what type of arthritis, there may be a significant amount of inflammation, and that is always helped with changing a few things. One is to reduce inflammatory foods in the diet such as alcohol, sugar, caffeine, corn, wheat, red meats, and dairy products. Not every person reacts to all these foods but they can often lead to inflammation. Anti inflammatory supplements such as fish oil or herbs like tumeric can be helpful as well. Increasing hydration and gentle exercise with proper use of hot and cold packs may be beneficial also.
For more specific information, consider seeing a naturopathic or holistic doctor near you for a individual consultation.
