auto immune problems

Question
hello, thank you very much for looking at myquestion. my daughter is 20 years old and other than this problem i am asking about has been in relitivly good health. when she was  approx. 15 she came down very sick with swollen glands and  fever and just really really sick. she became so sick that we ran her to the emergency room. they tested for flue and was negative. a few days later i took her in to her dr. and they really didnt know what it was but sent her home with antibiotics.  well it kept coming back and they kept sending her home with antibiotics.  later they finally tested her for mono and had tested that she at some point had came in contact with it but they werent sure when.  well after a few times of that it finally passed and she got better. ever since that happened she comes down with that same symtoms, swollen glands, severe fatigue, and achy all over but usually no fever about 3 or 4 times a year and it will pass. well about 2 months ago she came down with it again and this time it hasnt gone away. shes had to take leave from school as she was too fatigued to keep up. we have no insurance but found a clinic that goes by your income and they ran about 11 different test like lupus, RA, and a few other auto immune deseases but all were negitive. they sent her home with antibiotics and said if it comes back they will run a cat scan on all her lymp systen. as you probably know those are very expensive. we are so frustrated with whats wrong with her but im pretty sure its auto immune related because i have given her prednisone and she feels so much better. i know your not supposed to do that but we were desperate.  I guess my question to you is how would this be treated naturally. are there any herbs or vitamins or something that could help her feel better. i know we have to continue going to this clinic untill we get some answers or is this condition treated naturally? we would appreciate any info on this situation and im sorry this is so long but just wanted you to know weve done about everythind we know to do and its heartbreaking to watch your child feel so sick all the time when shes so young. oh yea and her white blood cells were not elevated either. thank you very much for your time.      laura

Answer
Hi Laura,

It is impossible to make a recommendation to treat an unknown condition. It would be helpful to have more information on the tests she had. Was anemia ruled out? Was thyroid problem ruled out? How about female hormone status? Was lyme's disease ruled out?

Thank you for using Allexperts

Sincerely,

Eric Brandt, B.Sc. Pharm
