Question
Hello Dennis.
I am 34, a lacto-ovo-vegetarian, healthy, and very interested in herbal use. My question now is about herbs that induce dreams. Below are a few that I?ve found are reputed to cause vivid dreams; I came across these by using Google, but have spoken to no one about them.
galantamine, phenibut, 900 mg of St Johns Wort, 5-HTP
African Dream Root: http://psychoactiveherbs.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=161_158
As an expert, do you recommend any of these, or any others?
I really appreciate your advice!
Chris
Answer
Hi Chris,
It's been one of those weeks.
Galantamine - Probably the 2nd best one on your list.
Phenibut - A tranquilizer - I wouldn't use it.
900 mg of St Johns Wort - Too high a dosage to be safe. It can cause heightened sun sensitivity.
African Dream Root - This has been used a long time for visionary dreams. Use 50 mg at night for two weeks for best results. Do not eat meat during this time.
Some common herbs have also been used through the years to enhance dreams.
Anise, cloves, mint, mugwort, rose, and rosemary to name a few.
Be very careful when using anything that affects the brain. The moment you have a troubling mood experience.
Sorry again, Chris, for my tardy reply.
Best wishes,
Dennis
