Help!!

Question
Hi, I have a few questions. I was diagnosed with PCOS last year. I decided that I didn't want to take BCP anymore so I switched to a more natural way of doing things. I started taking Vitex. I have seen a regular AF for the past 4 months. Last month I had a period but the PMS were just like pregnancy symptoms. And then it happened this month. I had some pregnancy symptoms two weeks before my period was suppose to come. And then it never showed up. Now I'm still experiencing some S or pregnancy symptoms. I have taken 3 pg tests and they all are negative. So I guess what I am tr o say is does Vitex cause you to miss periods? Also I only take 1 once a day although the bottle says take 1 three times per day. Should I up my dosage?

Answer
Hello Khamile,

Vitex in and of itself is not enough. Working with PCOS naturally will need to include diet changes and cleaning up the body as well well as making sure blood sugar issues are under control.

Vitex works differently on different people. PCOS can cause you to miss a cycle but cycles are regulated by the thyroid/pituitary.  I would look more towards the PCOS as being an issue here.

Here is some info on PCOS.

They should limit alcohol consumption, I suggest none at all.

DIET:

Diet suggested to add in lots of vegetables and fish.

Eat fats such as olive oil, avocadoes, essential fatty acids, walnuts and

salmon from the ocean only.

synthetic hormones in meat and dairy. This is another component in PCOS>

Green tea

At the very least eliminate fruit juices and sugar. Use only Stevia or Xylitol as sweetens. No artificial sweeteners.

Follow the recommended diet for her blood type with an emphasis on

organic and low glycemic index since this manifests primarily as a

Walk every day for 30-40 minutes at a moderate pace. Blood sugar may be high too as the

feedback loop from the excess insulin tries to maintain a decent

level of circulating sugar.

Get the other Xeno estrogens out of the environment, like laundry detergent, etc. Use Nature Sunshine Concentrate Cleaner to clean clothes and house with.
