Question
Hi,
My mother suffers from breathing issues, she has a hard time breathing and currently she is take a product called vasopro which contains 25mg of ephedrine hcl and 200 mg of Guaifenesin 200mg. This does work very well but does raise her heart rate and blood pressure, and does become addicting. She is not on any other medication and is 60 years old. Are there any natural herbs that can help and also give her some energy, the vasopro does give her energy.
Thanks
Barry
Answer
Hi Barry,
First off, let me address her breathing issues.
Quercitin-C from Ecological Formulas and Bromelain - Take 500 mg 3 times daily. Take this together with 100 mg Bromelain. These are powerful immunostimulants. Quercetin-C has an antihistamine effect. Also stabilizes cells to stop inflammation.
Flaxseed oil - 1,000 mg, 3 times daily. - Source of essential fatty acids needed for production of anti-inflammatory prostaglandins.
Ginkgo biloba, can help with breathing and give her more energy.
Echinacea is another herb that can help her breathing issues, and give her additional strength.
Eat a diet of fresh fruit and vegetables.
Include garlic and onions in your diet. These foods contain quercetin and mustard oils, which have been shown to inhibit an enzyme that aids in releasing inflammatory chemicals.
Energy providers
Burdock root and Red Clover cleanse the bloodstream. They can be used separately or in combination.
Garlic helps immune function and protects the heart.
Ginkgo biloba extract is good for giving extra energy, improving brain function, and increasing circulation.
Milk thistle promotes good liver function which will bring on added vitality.
Nettle is full of minerals and is good for a host of problems.
Drink plenty of water.
Exercise daily. This gives you more vitality.
These suggestions should help.
Best wishes to you, your mother, and your family.
