Here is all I've found as I researched herbal treatments of hernias.



Jeanne Rose-a highly respected Herbalist---mentions Bog asphodel (Narthecium ossifragum or N. californicum) as a treatment for hernia. A decoction mixed with wine was supposed to cure hernia, spasm, coughs, ulcers, and inflamed genitals. The mashed root was also applied. It is in the Lily family.
