Question
hello doc.how are you doing today?my question is what is the best and quickest way to treat or recover from a knee injury?
Answer
Hi Mikey,
Sorry for the delay response. I have not been able to access my email. So here I am so let's get on with the question.
First of all, recovery or healing depends on the age of the person injured and the type of injury involved. The younger the person, the faster the healing. If it is a broken bone, that may take about 6 months.
If it is a dislocation, it may take about a couple of month. If it is a torn ligament such as ACL or MCL, then surgery will be needed and a few months should heal the knee. But if it a regular sprain/strain type of injury, then this may take about 2-3 weeks.
All in all, rest would be the best way to let it heals itself. Although, having chiropractic or acupuncture along with proper nutrition such as fish oils and shark cartilage should hasten the recovery as well.
